60×60 Secs | motiroti | Film Screening | Tue 20th Apr, 6.45PM

Screen 4, Broadway

Advised Cert 15, 1hr 15minutes

60 films, 60 artists, 60 seconds… motiroti commissioned established and emerging artists from the South Asian diaspora to present their unique personal perspective on identity and home in an age of globilised culture. Using a one-minute format, these films range from the comic and abstract to the profound and often provocative; reflecting on the complexities of hybrid cultural identity and the visible and invisible borders of nationhood. Twenty artists from Britain, India and Pakistan have used a range of styles that invite the viewers to consider notions of identity and what it stands for in the 21st Century.

Watch all of the 60×60 Secs films accompanied by an after show conversation with some of the commissioned artists, including London based visual artist Dan Saul.

All of the commissioned films will be presented in the café/bar area of Broadway and within the public spaces at New Art Exchange.
